Privacy Policy

1. Overview

ScrollLift ("we", "us", or "our") provides a focus and productivity application designed to help users curb doomscrolling. ScrollLift acts as a physical friction layer, blocking selected distracting applications until the user completes a quick physical exercise challenge.

We are committed to user privacy. Our default policy is to process and store data locally on your device rather than uploading it to remote servers.

2. Data Stored Locally

ScrollLift processes and stores all personal configuration settings, exercise schedules, streak records, and completion counts locally inside your device's sandbox memory. We do not maintain remote user account databases or cloud databases for tracking your metrics. If you delete the application from your device, your local metrics and settings are permanently erased.

3. Camera & Video Privacy

To automatically detect and count your exercise repetitions (such as squats, pushups, or situps), ScrollLift requests permission to access your device's camera.

We do not record, store, or upload video frames or audio from your camera.

Camera processing is performed entirely on-device to detect movement during active challenges. Once the target reps are reached, the camera feed turns off. Workout videos are not uploaded or reviewed by ScrollLift.

4. Device Permissions

To provide its core blocking, tracking, and notification features, ScrollLift requires specific system permissions:

  • Screen Time / FamilyControls API: This permission allows ScrollLift to shield and block access to designated social, video, and gaming applications on iOS.
  • Camera Access: Required to detect physical exercise movement and automatically count repetitions on-device. Workout videos are not uploaded or saved.
  • Notifications: Used to send focus reminders, streak warnings, and status alerts regarding app locks and unlocks.
  • Motion & Orientation: We may access device gyroscope and accelerometer coordinates to assist in detecting exercise repetitions and device placement.
  • Apple Health / HealthKit Integration (Optional): You can optionally grant ScrollLift permission to share and write completed workouts to the Apple Health app, logging exercise type, duration, and active calorie metrics.

5. Payments & Subscriptions

All purchases, upgrades, and auto-renewing subscriptions are processed and billed directly through the Apple App Store. We utilize RevenueCat as our subscription management infrastructure to verify purchase tokens and map subscription statuses. RevenueCat handles transactions securely in compliance with standard billing frameworks. We do not store or collect credit card or billing details.

6. Analytics

We may use basic, privacy-preserving telemetry tools to collect anonymous usage events (e.g., number of successful unlocks, average app open counts) to help us optimize the performance of our application. This data does not contain any personally identifiable information, account details, or contact data.

7. Third-Party Disclosures

ScrollLift does not sell, lease, trade, or distribute your personal usage statistics, settings, or parameters to advertising platforms, data brokers, or any other third parties.

8. Health & Liability Disclaimer

ScrollLift is a productivity app, not a medical or physical health resource. The exercise challenges are simple tools to introduce physical friction. We make no claims of HIPAA compliance, medical suitability, or clinical health support. Always verify physical fitness targets with a qualified professional.

9. Contact & Data Deletion Requests

Since all core user data is stored locally on your device, you can delete your data at any time by clearing your settings inside the app or uninstalling the app.

If we introduce cloud accounts or data synchronization services in the future, you will be able to request deletion of your synced data directly through the application settings or by contacting us at:
